Phra Minja and Mija

100 Year Old Temple Ghost Children

of Phar Ajarn Manit

BE 2553 - 1st Batch Red and Black Boys with Red Eyes

~!~

This listing is part of the letter meant to authenticate this pair of Phar Ajarn Manit Prai Ghost creations through the abundance of well researched historical material, chronological statements of fact and thirty-six photographs.

So please sit back and read the listing through its entirety.  If you have come this far we are sure you will find it was worth the wait.

~*!*~

These twins are the fourth of nine pair created by Ajarn Manit as Kuman Thong and consigned to us by a Theravada Buddhist monk who is a guardian to Kuman Thong and friend of ours.

He helped prepare the idols and was present and party to their initial mass chanting in 2010 (BE 2553) procuring fifty-four of Ajarn Manit's creation and afterward blessed again from their maker, Phra Ajarn Manit.  The fifty-four followed him here to the United States in 2011 and were rented out to members of his congregation who sought him out for Kuman Thong.  These nine were returned to him by worshiper guardians that were simply spooked by them, as indicated by some of the testimony we've reprinted below.

They are not bad boys, but they are spirit ghosts, Prai charms and not meant for everyone.

Back to the Boys

As the title implies, this is a pair of, "Phra Minja and Mija", 100 Year Old Temple Ghost Children of Phar Ajarn Manit, BE 2553 - 1st Batch Red and Black Boys with Red Eyes".  They are part of the initial ten pair made and the first to arrive in this country!

These prai ghost children already had a history long before they went to a worshiper at Wat Buddharangsai in Homestead, Florida.  They are also part of the nine pair returned to the temple by their guardians because they were essentially spooked by them as attested to by the testimony quoted below.

Phra Ajarn Manit

He is a true Forest Tradition Monk, a named Ajarn.  During rainy season he is known to reside at Wat Ban Nong Kaen Charoen Pon, which is where he created these Kuman Thong.

Phra Ajarn Manit is a proliferous maker of these small batch colorful Prai charms.  He, his Kuman Thong, Phra Gam Ngae, Luk Kroc and Phra Ngang charms have achieved an international cult like status.  His charms are known to be quite active with worshipers claiming to have clearly felt the spirit's presence.

Most have and continue to enjoy their boon ever since.  These charms are known to attracts wealth, eliminate obstacles in life, grant luck, confound enemies, guard property and protect from harm.

But Back to the Twins

As stated above, they are part of the first batch of ten pair created in 2010.  Their color combination and pose are coded to Phra Ajarn Manit's magic components.  In this case, they were specifically made at the request of a 1000 year old temple ghost!  The story, as told by Ajarn Manit, is one night, while meditating by the temple pond he was approached by the area's guardian spirit who came to him in the form of an old man.  He had been here for one thousand years and like him, favored the pond area for meditation.  The spirit offered his help to raise money for the temple if he would create a kumanthong charm for two young brothers whose spirits had haunted the area for one hundred years.  A black one for the child named Minja and a red one for the child named Mija.  Both must have bright red eyes.

These are not typical Kuman Thong in that the remains used to create them were already a century old.  They were already mature ghosts, albeit young boys, whose remains had been secreted (buried?) at an undisclosed location (assumed to be temple grounds near the pond) that had died a violent death as innocents.  Prai charms had to be made from their remains and their Halo invited into the charms during the consecration.

Then off to the United States in carry-on baggage, where the ten pair were quickly sold.  Within sixty days however, nine of the ten pair were returned to the temple, "due to their vigour", which apparently frightened their new owners.  Six of those pair were returned within thirty days.  Our own Uncle Waddy purchased the tenth pair and he has no intention of parting with them.  These are of those original six (30 day returns) of the nine pair.

These are not vegan charms.  They contain Prai host material from Minja and Mija, along with their Nam Man Prai Oil, soil from seven cemeteries, the temple pond, its water, seven din pong (natural limestone talc), cave stone from Laos, ground elephant tooth with seduction and wealth demons invoked to participate in three seven day mass ceremonies to bless them.

Each measures approximately 6 3/8" in height x 2 3/4" x 2 1/2" and weighs 8 oz.

Their vessel body's are composed of a resin made from unknown sacred objects with the base being reliquary for the Prai components.

As stated above, the worshipers who had these returned them to the temple.  Below are translated and transcribed excerpts from the letters of explanation provided our friend the presiding Ajarn monk;

"After someone invited this kuman to go home, he always heard a child telling him 0311 in his ear.  No.) I didn't feel anything at the beginning, but after listening to it for two days, I felt that I was not right.  I went to buy pick4 on the same day.  When the word was opened at the end of the day, he was $5,000 richer (Wow, you are fine)"

"I have been asked to go home, but he is not very serious.  After a week, he is doing the Pasar, so he has to go out very early.  At 3 o'clock that morning, he was going to work.  He lived in the old house.  The door was an iron gate.  It was going to be pulled up.  It was difficult to pull every time because it was very old.  But that day was easy, as if someone had helped pull it up.  Then look at the side. .  A child with a black shadow and a pair of red eyes was watching him....  He was scared to escape immediately. .  The next day I took it back to the temple and returned it to the master (ps: give it to me)."

"I also enshrines this kuman, one day his new car is gone, he told the kuman. . If the child finds his father's car, Dad will buy a gold chain for you... After a week, his car is finally found back, but he forgot to talk to kuman, after two days that night.  When he slept, he felt someone jumping in his bed... a look... a black shadow red-eyed child was jumping, saying: Dad, Dad, my gold chain is there.....the result.  People don't dare to sleep... I am afraid that in the morning, I will go to the gold shop and buy a gold chain for his kuman which he wears when gave to you."

"I love these little boys, but they are mischievous, they can not help it.  It is who they are.  Full of love, happiness and mischief.  They talk to guests and play with pets.  This is difficult for my Christian wife."

The consignor adds; "This is a very good Kuman Thong. He is good for raising, help you can get everything.. But I think that you don't be afraid to raise, don't be afraid to raise, don't be like those people, afraid and send back to the temple.  Kuman is very poor without parent to help.... lost child don't know where to go....you Greatly agree?"

He also provides us with some guidance.  "When invite Minja and Mija to your home, light nine joss, page the guardian spirits of the home and announce the arrival of Minja and Mija to them.  Ask they be welcome.  The guardian spirits should welcome them, but if the joss go out.  Go away and try again another day.  Do not repeat this that day.  But they should by welcome one try."

"As soon joss burn chant one time only - A hi kumaro a hi kumaree a hi samakama a hi manee mana arkatchayya arkatchayhi mani mama patanamapa.  Doing this allows Minja and Mija to live in your household with love, luck and prosperity. Their incantation kata is; Mano tatsa pakawato a raha to samma sambhud tatsa - three times."

We have quite a few of these spirit children and have handled and dealt with more than most so when they arrived we quickly unpacked them, assessed them for damage and made them comfortable and welcome.  Initial examination showed them to be intact.

They rested comfortably as we had prepared for their arrival by making a place for them at our own Kuman Thong Altar at the foot of its Main Buddha.

We explained to them that they are our invited guests while we seek proper guardians to adopt them into their homes and we all expect them to help you in business, find wealth, health and happiness!  Apparently they understand, and have been sighted here playing so nothing is amiss.  All good signs!

We consider ourselves fortunate to have been exposed to Kuman Thong through the Marie Glapion Baptiste Estate which contained comprehensive research on these practices and practical use of its tools.  Their exposure to them began just prior to the outbreak of WWII, according to their journal entries.  It is apparent they had dealings with numerous, "Luangpor" over the next four decades!.

In an entry dated May 3rd., 1941, one of their journals graphically detail participation in the making of Gumarnthong with Luang Phor Tae, along with two unnamed Cambodian Monk's.  A practice brought home and taught to their associates.  Some other entries from these journals that pertain to these charms read; “We have kept numerous Gumarnthong so here is some knowledge that will be of assistance you.”

”All were authored by Sorcerer Monks.  I have had hand and bear witness to their major ingredient (root) being taken from graves where mother and unborn child reside together.  A violent death, such as murder, suicide, or accident, are preferred in that order.  The child is surgically removed then roasted until charred and these roasted remains are the key ingredients of these charms,
along with powdered pieces taken from temple graves,  tombstone and dirt from the same site along with magic herbs that the monks hold secret and sacred.  But know you also, this practice is fraught with danger from the violent awakening of the mother’s ghost, whose sheer force of momentum is overpowering for most, leaving apprenticed monks maimed or blinded.”

“They are quite capable of being taught to perform evil bidding’s by their feeding on blood, but if you choose to train one as such, know it does not rest in peace and bears constant watching.  A blindfold of red cloth, or placement facing a Buddha statue puts him to sleep, as he is truly corrupted from your blood feedings.”

”Notes on the care and feeding Gumarnthong.  Like all children, they prefer sweets.  Any candy will do, preferably one you will share, but do not let it become unappealing or allow the sweet to draw ants.  Fresh milk, but this too must be removed, and not permitted to spoil in front of the child.  Mine have loved a mixture of hard boiled egg, milk and rice, but again, I warn you to change the child’s meal and do not allow it to spoil before him.  Fresh fruit, peeled or prepared for a child, including a small toy at mealtime is always a treat.”

“They love blood, especially that of their parents.  Even more so of a creator, or one present at their their making, that can recover the child from a blood feeding.”

“Blood feeding is best reserved for those of unnatural death, or at the hands of the parent, such as an aborted fetus.  There is the passion of hatred and violence here, and it is this energy that caused the soul’s unrest, making rebirth impossible unless caught in time through the chanting of mantra by a group of high practitioners.  Once fed of your blood, much like good mojo root work, he requires a daily blood feeding by that parent, and just a drop at that, but everyday per drop.  He is capable of evil, so be aware that these blood feedings are responsible for this process.  Blood fed, they are quite effective in following the mind and heart of the parent.  He is of your blood, and will become like you, the parent.”

”It is your child, never forget this.  They look to you for love and guidance.  Taking their cues from your mindset, they will help you perform dark and evil deeds, but remember, this invitation to practice dark arts demands payment.”

“He has cleared numerous obstacles from my life’s path, and love’s new toys as reward!”

As to the material of this charm, and how it is obtained, is graphically described in a journal entry dated May 3rd., 1941, tells us of one such ritual in which he claims to have participated.  "After locating a recent grave that met their criteria.  It belonged to a young, near full term pregnancy mother, raped and murdered.  They then went into, "meditative prayer", in preparation of recovering the unborn, dead fetus from the dead mother's womb for use in the making of a Gumarnthong."

Luang Phor Tae, along with two unnamed Cambodian Monk's, one older, and one younger than Luang Phor Tae, and this LiDiex waited until 3 am before they started to dig up the grave.  They had until sunrise to complete the charm.

From the LiDiex entry, "it was an an uneventful dig, as I was told to expect, but once we removed the child from the womb, the mother awakened.  Assuring it was a male child, the young monk fell to his knees, vomiting blood and blinded by her onslaught as he handed the child to me, whose duty it was to run back to the temple, outpacing the mother's ghost, while Luang Phor Tae ran both behind to hold her at bay, and then ahead, to the sanctuary to beseech the Black Buddha at the sanctuary to prevent the mother from interfering in our task.  The Buddha assuaging her rage with the understanding that we were granting life, happiness, and enlightenment to her unborn and murdered son."

He goes on to describe an open air shrine, dominated by a black bronze Buddha of apparent Thai origin, specifically made for this task, keeping the mother from interfering with their roasting of her child, then using his roasted remains as "root", in a prepared mixture of their grave dirt, Holy Magical Powders and sacred herbs.  It is this mixture from which the charm is formed.

"Although I have no fear of death, I did feel the mother's rage as she tried to extinguish the fire by depleting the area of oxygen.  This would have worked in a closed room shrine, killing us all", he notes.

"Once life was granted to Gumarnthong, the mother achieved understanding, and her spirit left at peace", he writes in another entry.

Please read this description carefully and feel free to ask any questions you may have.  We have extensive experience with these charms and they are all they are cracked up to be.  We find no need to elaborate further on them here, lest one think we were making spurious claims.

One additional warning, They are extremely jealous, and immature creatures created by death and magic that are not easily rid of, so you need to watch it.  They do not belong in a home with children.

All of this is just a small portion of what you need to know of the history of these charms and its spells that originated with Khuen Paen.  Worshipper’s attribute them with providing good luck, fortune, wealth, prevention from accidental injury, success at business, changing bad luck to good luck, aiding them in overcoming obstacles in life, enhancing metta (loving kindness, charm), protection from black magic, evil and negative influence.  In addition to that they are beautiful conversation pieces that often lead to opportunity.  Can't ask for much more than that!

They are certainly investment quality Thai Buddhist artifacts with an extraordinary provenance that are much nicer than the photographs are able to depict.
